Chapter 1: The Black Widow: Belle Gunness

Belle Gunness, a Norwegian-American serial killer, is one of the most notorious female criminals in history. She lured men to her farm in La Porte, Indiana, with promises of marriage and financial security, only to murder them and collect their life insurance policies. Belle's modus operandi was brutal and efficient: she would poison her victims with arsenic, dismember their bodies, and burn their remains in a stove.

Belle Gunness's reign of terror came to an end in 1908, when a fire destroyed her farm. Her charred remains were found in the rubble, along with the bones of at least 14 of her victims. Belle's true number of victims is unknown, but it is estimated that she killed dozens of men over a period of several years.

Chapter 2: The Poisoner: Mary Ann Cotton

Mary Ann Cotton was an English serial killer who poisoned at least 21 people, including her four husbands, her mother, and her stepson. Cotton used arsenic to dispatch her victims, often administering it in food or drink. She was a skilled manipulator who preyed on vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly and the sick.

Cotton's killing spree began in 1852 and continued for over a decade. She was finally arrested in 1873 after her stepson's death from arsenic poisoning. Cotton was convicted of murder and hanged in 1875. Her case remains one of the most notorious examples of female homicide in British history.

Chapter 3: The Serial Killer: Aileen Wuornos

Aileen Wuornos is one of the most famous female serial killers in the United States. She killed at least seven men in Florida from 1989 to 1990, targeting male johns who picked her up while she was hitchhiking.

Wuornos's killings were often brutal and sexually motivated. She would shoot her victims in the head or chest and then rob them. Wuornos was arrested in 1991 and sentenced to death in 1992. She was executed by lethal injection in 2002.

Chapter 4: The Femme Fatale: Mata Hari

Mata Hari was a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was accused of being a spy for Germany during World War I. She was convicted of treason and executed by a firing squad in 1917.

Mata Hari's case is steeped in mystery and intrigue. Her true allegiance remains unknown, and there is speculation that she was framed by the French government. Nevertheless, she remains one of the most iconic female criminals in history.

Chapter 5: The Unsolved Case: The Zodiac Killer

The Zodiac Killer is one of the most notorious unsolved serial killer cases in American history. The killer terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1960s, killing at least five people and injuring two others.

The Zodiac Killer's identity remains unknown, despite numerous investigations and theories. The killer communicated with the police and newspapers through coded letters and ciphers, which have never been fully deciphered.

... and 15 more shocking cases

These are just a few of the 20 shocking true crime cases that are explored in this book. Each case is a testament to the dark and twisted depths of the female psyche. Prepare yourself for a chilling and unforgettable journey into the world of female homicide.
