The History Naval Institute Chronicles was written by a team of historians from the Naval Institute Press. The team was led by Dr. John B. Hattendorf, a leading expert on naval history. Dr. Hattendorf is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has served as the Director of the Naval Historical Center and the President of the Naval War College. He is the author of numerous books and articles on naval history.
